Your duty is to sanctify yourself. Yes, even you. Who thinks that this task is only for priests and religious? To everyone, without exception, our Lord said: Be ye perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect. St. Josemaria

She Will Console You..

"My dear little son, I love you. I desire you to know who I am. I am the ever-virgin Mary, Mother of the true God who gives life and maintains its existence. He created all things. He is in all places. He is Lord of Heaven and Earth. I desire a church in this place where your people may experience my compassion. All those who sincerely ask my help in their work and in their sorrows will know my Mother's Heart in this place. Here I will see their tears; I will console them and they will be at peace."

Our sweet Lady of Guadalupe feast day is coming soon on 12-12-12.  She will console us, she desires us to know her so that she can bring us to her son, Our Lord.  It will bring us peace in our homes and most of all in our hearts.

It is also the day we are going to consecrate  our life, our family to Our Lady so that through her she can bring us to HIM!

This year we are very bless to travel to Mexico city to visit my husband's family for Christmas.  Every time we go, we visit our Lady of Guadalupe at the Villa in Mexico City.  There are no words that I can use to describe what it feels to see her there so beautiful.

I will bring her your intentions, she sees your tears, she will console you and bring you peace.

If you would like a rose rosary from the Villa of Guadalupe visit us at (at Our Lady of Guadalupe bow section) to order one and also check out these great sets.  You must order by 17th of December since, we will leave on the 18th.

He who is faithful in a very little..

We are now in day 2 of this transformation of 33 days to Jesus through Mary as we give Him our whole self. Not just our soul but our mind and body.  These readings from yesterday and today, it is Him talking to us as we go on this journey to transform our whole body for Christ.

Yesterday's Reading:
1 Corinthians 3: 16-17
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?
If any one destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and that temple you are.

From Today's reading:
Luke 16: 10
"He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much;

Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things in him who strengthens me."

We are God's temple, we are ALL for HIM. In the way we dress, eat, drink, laugh, and live, we show forth HIS greatness, HIS LOVE. He and only HE transforms others through our Light as we transform ourselves. Now is the time, the world is begging you to transform yourself so it can transform itself.

He will give us the strengthens and only HE can.
Just be faithful in the little things:
your prays
your walks
your meals
your smile

33 days of transformation: Whole Body

The time has come to transform ourselves so that we can really transform our society.  Challenge for yourself and your family:
33 days of transformation: Whole Body: Soul, Mind and Body.

Tomorrow we will start 33-day preparation for the Total Consecration To Jesus Through Mary according to Saint Louis Marie de Montfort so that we can do our final vows on the Feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe , 12/12/12.  This devotion, formulated by the Saint in the 1700s, leads us to union with Christ through a total consecration of self through Our Lady.  We do this after the example of Jesus Himself, who chose to give Himself to us through His Blessed Mother.  Another book written by St. Louis entitled "The Secret of Mary", explains and promotes this devotion.

Here are some sites that give you St. Louis Marie De Montfort prayers for this Total Consecration:

Here are some books: We will use this one.
 33 Days to Morning Glory

I used this one for the kids and it is just so beautiful for them! It really puts into their level and understanding.

The Secret Of Mary Explained To Children

It is the Year of the Faith:  We need to know our faith once again so that we can light up this world with truth and beauty. For the next 33 days: Read about your Faith. Know it. Live it. Breath it.

Just read one section a day keeps the devil away!

Catechism of the Catholic Church, Simplified

And read a book on those who truly lived the FAITH: The Saints:

Some Books/sites:

Saint's Books (free download)

Ebooks free on Saints, Our Faith, Pope's teaching  and even Chesteron

Last but not least and its my favorite book on great and beautiful and real mothers and wives :

Great Wives and Mothers (book on wonderful saints), you can read it for free

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own;  you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body,"

(1 Cor. 6:19-20)

We have to glorify our Lord also with our body. How can we show the world His Light and truth if we can't show them first how Beautiful we love His temple in us.

So.. 33 days of stepping up and taking great care of our body.

1. Do any (ANY) type of exercise for any (ANY) amount of time  with only 1 Sunday OFF for rest.

2. Drink or Drink.. WATER. (add lime or something if you don't like the taste, no hard liquor ) As I mention before, get yourself a water bottle of at least 16 oz or more, fill it, when you take your slips don't stop until you had said 1 Hail Mary (not out loud in your mind) but you know it, you need to refill it and again, try to drink at least 3 of those 16oz or more.

 3. Give up something, you can change it every week or stick with it for the 33 days, such as: no soda, no kids candy, no sleeping in when the alarm goes off, no salt or sugar, you get the point. (yes, it sounds like my list) When we mortified our bodies in such ways, we help our will over come our wants.

WW: More like the Weight of the World

Dear Readers,   I know it was so hard to get up this morning with a up lifting spirit as we see once again the blindness of  world and how we have once again turn our back to the human race from the unborn to the old.  I know. Its depressing. I know.  But than:  This morning  reading at Mass ,

Psalm 27 : The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? The Lord is my life's refuge; of whom should I be afraid?

Than We have the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians 2:12-18 . Here is the apart that got me the most:
Do everything without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine like lights in the world...

We have to and we will shine the love of Christ in the mists of this world. We can't hide our lamp, we must and we will shine in this very dark world.  So don't lose the real Hope of Christ, hold on and stay strong.

All Soul Graveyard for $8 and Under 10 minutes

We are getting ready to do Our All Saints and All Souls Celebration at our home-schooling group. Our celebration will happen on All Souls Day after 1st Friday Mass.  We will have Our All Saints -- Guess Who contest and lots of games but we will start out with special prayers for the Departed Souls and Litany of the Saints. We got the idea of having the 4 tombstones for our graveyard as a part of our All Saints celebration from Catholic Culture.

Since I moved south, I didn't bring with me the tombstones/graveyard that I had made for our other home school group. So now, I had to make another one since our church doesn't have a graveyard on site.

I was thinking of a complicated method  until I went to the Dollar tree today and I found these:

Than I did this:
You will need 4 for the tombstones of Departed Family, Friend, Clergy and Unforgotten Souls.
And a print out of the tombstones labels
(I got the clip art from Sanctus Simplicitus)

I also got the blank white candles at Dollar Tree, so that we can light them as we say a
Requiem aeternam dona ei (eis), Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei (eis). Requiescat (-ant) in pace Amen.
Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Did you that a partial indulgence, applicable only to the souls in purgatory, can be obtained when the Eternal Rest (Requiem aeternam) is prayed.

Once again you need 4 candles and printout of the candle labels
(picture comes from here)

And than I finished :

So now I have our graveyard for $8s and less than 10 minutes to make.

At each tombstone lay red berries and an evergreen branch to symbolize the passion of Christ which wrought eternal life for us.

Here is also the Litany of Saints and Eternal Rest Prayer to printout to pray.

Have a Blessed Weekend...

Year of the Faith in eyes of a Saint--

Do we really have faith?

Are we really in Love with the Church?

Let us fall in Love again and again with the Church through the eyes of this poor saint,
who loved the Church with all of his being..

"Faith is a virtue which we Christians greatly need, and in special way in this 'Year of Faith' which our beloved Holy Father Pope Paul VI has decreed. For, without faith, we lack the very foundation for the sanctification of ordinary life.

A living faith in these moments, because we are drawing near to the mysterium fidei, to the Holy Eucharist: because we are about to participate in our Lord's Pasch, which sums up and effects the mercies of God towards men.

Faith, my children, in order to acknowledge that within a few moments the work of our Redemption is going to be renewed on this altar. Faith, to savour the Creed and to experience, around this altar and in this Assembly, the presence of Christ, who makes us cor unum et anima una, one heart and one soul and transforms us into a family, a Church which is one, holy, catholic, apostolic and Roman, which for us is the same as saying universal.

Faith, finally, my beloved daughters and sons, to show the world that all this is not just ceremonies and words, but a divine reality, as we present to mankind the testimony of an ordinary life made holy, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and of Holy Mary."

Temple of the Holy Spirit: WW

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body,"
 (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
Well, its my first true week .  I found a great resource by Chris Powell called : Reshape the Nation. Very Very useful especially if you haven't read the book.   It just simple:  You have a low day of carbs and next day is a high carbs (the good carbs: not the ugly bad ones..) and than you have SUNDAY: Day of Rest. God really knows what he was talking about by taking Sunday OFF!

It was a challenge  to drink, I mean water drink not the stronger one , a gallon (yes, a gallon ) of H2O .. Water. I have a straw 24 oz cup so I needed to drink 5.5 of those. I usually take a very long slip as I say one Hail Mary every time and before you know it, I have drank a gallon and plus, I have said lots of Hail Marys for our country, our family, our church. You don't lose you only gain (not in weight I hope!)

You see, its not only your body but your soul and mind that makes it so beautiful and holy.  You are a Temple of the Holy Spirit.  So beautiful God has created you, in His Image.. Do everyone good: Love your whole self (body, mind and soul) by taking great care of it. If not one will not be able to help the other.

I have also done 6 days of sweating a river on my dear black machine for 30mins. (actually I went out in the morning  on saturday to do my cardio while everyone slept.).

1st week :  5 reps each reps is 3 minutes of slow :
walking, running, biking, swimming, etc..  you get the point.. You have to move the body.
2 minutes of a quicker pace and than 1 minute of quickest pace.   So that comes out to 30mins. You can split it into two 15 mins.

I think the hardest part of it all.. is just getting on, once I am on, I can't seem to stop until time is done.  I have also place a dear picture of my Lord on the Cross on Mrs. Black (my machine). I usually say the Divine Mercy. It seems that it all comes together so well, the sweating, the pain,  His Mercy and His Love.

So this weeks Challenge is

A. Drink, Drink (nothing heavy, I know they are those days) a gallon of water. I dare you, I double dare you to do it.  Let me know if you do and what happens in a week.  That is 7 gallons of water for one week.

B. Move , just move a little or alot . Just walk. walk slow as you have the whole day to do nothing, than walk as you need to make dinner and than walk as if you are chasing that cutie two year old with a black marker. Start for 10minutes and than add another 2 to 5 minutes daily. By the end of this week challenge you will be up to 30 minutes!!

C. Soul Challenge:  Place a cross in your bedside, before you get your feet off and running and before you close your eyes at night: just kiss His Feet and say:  All for His Greater Glory!

If you let me know that you are with me during this transformation :  that  you are up for the challenges and will share, I will put your name in for some great prizes :  such as Chris's book,  gift certificate to some great online stores, and much more. Let's have some fun with it all!

Now lets talk numbers:  (I have to tell you it was very hard not getting on the scale all week long. It makes no sense to go on it daily since your water intake does make it go up and down. ) So when you put your feet on her face (the scale), do it once a week and first thing in the morning of that same day.  Also if you are starting , do your measurements b/c you might lose inches before you might see the pounds go down.

WW: 177
Lost: 2 solid pounds.

Many Blessings to you and your family!

Glory of Our Church = A New Saint

This Sunday, Our Most beautiful and loving Mother Church will honor another Saint: St. Kateri!
“I am not my own; I have given myself to Jesus. He must be my only love. The state of helpless poverty that may befall me if I do not marry does not frighten me. All I need is a little food and a few pieces of clothing. With the work of my hands I shall always earn what is necessary and what is left over I’ll give to my relatives and to the poor. If I should become sick and unable to work, then I shall be like the Lord on the cross. He will have mercy on me and help me, I am sure.”

Holy Heroes (a great resource ) has a wonderful coloring book you can download for free and also over at Hair Bows 4 Life, for a limited time, they are giving away a Free St. Kateri Hair Bow.

I am just in love with how our Church gives and gives us these great examples to truly live our FAITH... Reading about the saints will help our faith grow deeper especially this Year of the FAITH

{pretty, happy, funny, real}

round button chickenCapturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~Every Thursday,  at Like Mother, Like Daughter!

{PRETTY}Our new parish in Mississippi. When we moved here, we stop at the church after our closing on the house. This is what we found but it was closed. This is actually the Chapel of the Parish. It was found in the 1800's.

 I love this spot.
A Live Oak Tree.

The chapel got to small for the size of the parish so they decided to make room at the grounds of the close school gym up a mile from the chapel. Now I wish I had taken a picture of the outside. It is very very ugly. At the time that we saw it, we didn't know that was the school's gym.
I just thought it was an ugly church built in the 60ish or 70ish.
(I will take a picture next week so you can see what I mean)

I truly learn the lesson of never judge the book by the cover. We'll this is what we found on the inside of that ugly school gym.  Father John had taken pieces of other churches that were being sold (yes, so sad) and has turn this gym into Heaven.  As Father told me, "It was all the work of Lord that all of these came together".

 A beautiful from Italy.
{Happy}She was sure happy at her last minute throw it together birthday party. She had in her mind the idea that her best-friend from up North was coming to her birthday. When it finally hit her that wasn't going to happen, she asked me a day before her birthday, "What about my co-op friends, Can't they come?"   Honestly, I didn't feel it, to do a "planned party", just us the family. Why, I don't know because it was too hard on me since I miss miss miss my dear friends. But I had to do it for her, really for her so our hearts wouldn't ach so much.
She just loves My Little Pony and pink. (She is my girl!)
Here is what came out of a one day planning and one trip to Dollar Tree/Micheal .
With a bit of pink sprinkles, pony stickers, a pretty and pink decor , and flowers.. we had a lovely time!

{FUNNY}Who would of thought that a snake could make a pretty accessories.

{Real}What a joke. That is really our V.P.   I just kept thinking.. what is really so funny? To think I just moved from his state. I am just glad that finally  my vote will count in this Southern State of Mississippi.

My Journey to lose it.

Not my mind! I think that is gone!  My weight. It is the ever lasting battle!  Something is a bit different this time. It all started with a drawing. A child's drawing, my daughter at a restaurant  drew a picture of me as she sees me.  It was truly an eye opener.  How I really look like to her, to my family, to world.
(It's more sad the look on my face.)

I knew right there that I just couldn't hide behind the excuses anymore.. such as we moved to a whole different part of the country or I lost my son at 22weeks and I have all this pregnancy weight, no more.
That is the thing about excuses; they are useless.

So I start on 10th of September on my road (on the road again..) to really being healthy and fit not just for my family but for myself and my Lord.   I must take care of my body which is the container of the soul. A soul that is made in the image of God.  I also know and feel that my weight has a great deal to do with me not being able to get pregnant again.

So I went back to South Beach, it just seem to work and doing my Catholic Workout and exercises machine. I lost 11 pounds in one month. Than I have been at the same weight now for a few weeks. I started to do even more research on this whole nutrition and stuff. I got out lots of books at the library, have been study as my life depends on it. Because it does!  I believe I found the key to my car and I hope to trade in that car for the latest one..

The Carb-Cycling. I start with this great book by a wonderful guy who is really into helping others lose it.
"Choose to Loose" By Chris Powell. I didn't know that he has a tv show on abc about the helping very heavy people lose the weight. You should check out these stories on YouTube. His website is .   In a nutshell: You have one day of low-carb (six meals.. yes six meals, every 3 hours and breakfast is within 30mins. of waking up and always a high-carb meal ) and one day of High-carb and the best part is you have either one Free Day (Sunday is set for me!!) or you can choose one free meal 3x a week.

We can't forget the exercises either part of it. 3 days of shapers (weight left but you can use your body, 3 exercises: push ups, curl ups and squats  ) and 6 days of intervals 15 to 30 mins a day.(I love intervals, it makes my black machine look sweet and time does go by quick!)Get the book , in your library or used on amazon or at walmart. It is an eye opener.

I have a goal in mind (2 months count down to Mexico) that I want to lose at least 15 pounds. At Least.

So I choose Wednesday as my weight in day... As I have done before: Weight in Wednesday. You are more than welcome to join me for joy ride!
