Your duty is to sanctify yourself. Yes, even you. Who thinks that this task is only for priests and religious? To everyone, without exception, our Lord said: Be ye perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect. St. Josemaria

Time is everything..

As I was getting ready to post about this story I came to know today, about Vickie Danner
a Catholic homeschool mom in the Kansas City area who is dying of breast cancer. Her husband has lost his job. The family (seven children) are facing foreclosure as well as losing their mom. A website has been set up, giving details and asking for donations.

I go back to her site and was just inform now that She has just passed away today. It makes me sad for sure since these children just lost their mothers and the least of the worries will be losing their home soon. (They have until June 7th to pay). I wonder about TIME... God's time is everything and yet its never what we think of it for ourselves. I never heard of Vickie until this morning and going on her site and seeing her picture and reading her story and I donated money and pray for her family and few hours later, God called his Faithful servant home.

I wonder how many people today learn of her story, prayed for her and maybe that was what God was waiting for , a day filled with prayers for her by strangers yet brothers and sister in HIS Church, to give her and her family the courage and faith to do His Will.

A Prayer For a Mother who has died

Dear Lord, relying on your promises to us, I turn to you in trust that this mother is with you and that she is enjoying your loving embrace. You alone know how she loved the best she could and how she faithfully endured the struggles that she faced. You know the graces you gave her and you know the grace she was for her family and for so many. For all the ways she truly loved the way you loved her, please reward her, Lord. May she enjoy the communion of all her family and friends who are with you.

Dia De Ninos..

On April 30th, what is celebrated in Mexico, Dia De Ninos, Kid's Day... We celebrate one of God's greatest gift .. Children... We celebrate Life, laughter... joys and growing pains...

Every year we celebrate by just doing what the kids want (give or take the idea) and we give them a gift, we get ice cream, you know. We just do it all out for them.. They love it.. My trainboys asks about Kids Day usually starts after Easter to until the day ,.. when is kids day.. He is only 4 but really recalls last year how we just celebrate being a kid and their greatest joy, themselves.

Its a day that one just stops and really thinks..
of this great gift..

How are you going to celebrate your greatest gift?

Please share your ideas, your pictures, and your joy!

Today is the Best Tax Day of Your LIFE!

Today Is the Best Tax Day of Your Life
Looking back, we may all remember April 15, 2010, as the day we got off cheaply. Why a growing deficit and increased spending on health care and Social Security nearly guarantee higher tax bills in our future.

Read the rest of the article from Newsweek, which I find surprising that it comes from such a left maginze but they can't even hide from the truth of it all.
May God have Mercy on us and the whole World.

In honor of the World Cup: Christ is Risen!

Saw this over at Creative Minority Report.

Moscow, April 5, Interfax - Fans greeted each other on Easter at a Sunday evening soccer match at Moscow Lokomotiv stadium.

At the beginning of the second half of the match thousands of fans of Dynamo team started chanting "Christ is Risen!", an Interfax correspondent reports.

Thousands of fans of Lokomotiv teeam on the opposite side of the stadium responded by chanting "Truly He is Risen!"

The exchange took place several times.

The correspondent who has attended soccer matches for almost 50 years says it was the occurrence of this kind in the history of Russian soccer.

Are you proud to be a Catholic?

Jewish Sam Miller on Catholics
Excerpts of an article written by non-Catholic Sam Miller - a prominent Cleveland Jewish businessman:

"Why would newspapers carry on a vendetta on one of the most important institutions that we have today in the United States, namely the Catholic Church?

Do you know - the Catholic Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at the cost to that Church of 10 billion dollars, and a savings on the other hand to the American taxpayer of 18 billion dollars. The graduates go on to graduate studies at the rate of 92%.

The Church has 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. with an enrollment of 700,000 students.

The Catholic Church has a non-profit hospital system of 637 hospitals, which account for hospital treatment of 1 out of every 5 people - not just Catholics - in the United States today

But the press is vindictive and trying to totally denigrate in every way the Catholic Church in this country. They have blamed the disease of pedophilia on the Catholic Church, which is as irresponsible as blaming adultery on the institution of marriage.

Let me give you some figures that Catholics should know and remember. For example, 12% of the 300 Protestant clergy surveyed admitted to sexual intercourse with a parishioner; 38% acknowledged other inappropriate sexual contact in a study by the United Methodist Church, 41.8% of clergy women reported unwanted sexual behavior; 17% of laywomen have been sexually harassed.
Meanwhile, 1.7% of the Catholic clergy has been found guilty of pedophilia. 10% of the Protestant ministers have been found guilty of pedophilia. This is not a Catholic Problem.

A study of American priests showed that most are happy in the priesthood and find it even better than they had expected, and that most, if given the choice, would choose to be priests again in face of all this obnoxious PR the church has been receiving.

The Catholic Church is bleeding from self-inflicted wounds. The agony that Catholics have felt and suffered is not necessarily the fault of the Church. You have been hurt by a small number of wayward priests that have probably been totally weeded out by now.

Walk with your shoulders high and you head higher. Be a proud member of the most important non-governmental agency in the United States . Then remember what Jeremiah said: 'Stand by the roads, and look and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is and walk in it, and find rest for your souls'. Be proud to speak up for your faith with pride and reverence and learn what your Church does for all other religions.

Be proud that you're a Catholic."

Having fun with Velcro!

I was finally able to do some of those poster that Sue Patrick describes in her workbox system, that we use at the start of the school year (which has been wonderful)
I started off with a simple one, a ABC, I got two posters from the Dollar Store, laminated one and cut up the other and laminated those pieces, put Velcro on both..
BAM! We have a ABC poster activity for those little children.
They love to do it. I am working on a USA map and number one as well. Also would like to do one of the mysterious of the rosary and so on..(if I just had more time in a day!)
Below, I did something different, I also did their names and placed them on their desk and so its just another way of learning how to spell their names!
Trainboy loves to do so! Now if I can Velcro their cute cushions to the chair, I might have some there! :)

Our Lady of Angels has made her move on LA!

Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday named a Texas bishop to take over the archdiocese of Los Angeles after Cardinal Roger M. Mahony's expected retirement next year.

The pontiff appointed Jose Gomez as co-adjutor archbishop of Los Angeles, an assisting position that essentially puts him first in line to succeed Mahony, who reaches the mandatory retirement age of 75 for bishops in February.

Gomez is archbishop of San Antonio, a post he took up five years ago, during the last few months of John Paul II's papacy. Gomez, 58, is also a member of Opus Dei, the controversial group favored by John Paul II for its conservative teachings.

Read the rest of the article (warning its the LA Times)

Many of you may or may not heard of Opus Dei, founded by Saint JoseMaria.. But this is great news for the Catholic Church in American, for the LA and Pro-Life . LA is going from a left-wing archbishop and less in a year will have a very Pro-life Archbishop!! Who is only 58! That's young. He is good man, a faithful man who loves his church and the people.

Thank you God, for your mercy on us.

"My Mother, my Lady of Torreciudad, Queen of the Angels, ‘show yourself a mother’ and make us into good and faithful children,”
wrote Saint Josemaría on this date in the visitors’ book at the shrine of Our Lady of Torreciudad, after praying before the statue there. His parents had first taken him to Torreciudad at the age of two in thanksgiving for his recovery from a serious illness

"Whom are you seeking?"

JOHN 20:13 And they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?"
She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I
do not know where they have laid Him."
JOHN 20:14 When she had said this, she turned around, and beheld
Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.
JOHN 20:15 Jesus said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping? Whom
are you seeking?" Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said
to him, "Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you
have laid Him, and I will take Him away."
JOHN 20:16 Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to
Him in Hebrew, "Rabboni!"

This is Antonio Vivaldi's work.. the Sonata "Al Santo Speolcro", its played at Easter Vigil service at the dramatic ceremony in which the Maries come to the sepulchre to anoint Christ's body and are greeted by the angel at the empty tomb.

He is risen; he is not here."
-- Mark 16:6

"Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song."
-- Pope John Paul II
