Your duty is to sanctify yourself. Yes, even you. Who thinks that this task is only for priests and religious? To everyone, without exception, our Lord said: Be ye perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect. St. Josemaria

Thankful Thursday : My Dad

A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart. ~Author Unknown

The greatest gift I ever had
Came from God; I call him Dad!
~Author Unknown

Today, my father turns 75 years....

I miss being close to him, especially on days like today!

I miss his smiles and his gentle laugh.

I miss his tears when he talks about things so dear to him.

I miss him.

Thank you Father!

May God bless you so many more years!

as Children do..

"Believe me, unless you become like little children again, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matt 8: 23-26

"To become children we must renounce our pride and self-sufficiency, recognizing that we can do nothing by ourselves. We must realize that we need grace, and the help of God our Father to find our way and keep to it. To be little, you have to abandon yourself as children do, believe as children believe, beg as children beg."
St. Josemaria, Christ is Passing by

The hardest thing for myself to deal with our lost was how to explain to my oldest girl
this lost of ours?

Now do you say.. we will not see the face of your brother/sister..

So I wait and wait and I see I have to say something now..

"hum... Remember our baby angel, Pablo?....
He now has a brother or sister with him in heaven.."
I say holding back the tears...

She looks up with these big brown eyes..
and says..
" Jesus needs an angel.. He needs lots of angels.."

What faith! What trust!

She says as well..
"The baby was a girl and I think we should call her Marta..."

Please Lord..
Help me
to abandon myself as children do,
believe as children believe,
beg as children beg.

Those little ones....

"One thing is certain: When the time has come, nothing which is man-made will subsist. One day, all human accomplishments will be reduced to a pile of ashes. But every single child to whom a woman has given birth will live forever, for he has been given an immortal soul made to God's image and likeness."
~ Alice von Hidebrand, The Privilege of Being a Women, p.33 ~

This is one of my favorite author and books... but I say here.. that a woman doesn't have to give birth to give a child an immortal soul since right at conception a soul is born..

For what happens when that baby doesn't make to birth..
Not by choice of a mother but nature itself?

Here I sit with this thought in my head and my soul as
we lose another soul before he is born..

But my sadness is not of my own pity.. no..
sadness is of those thousands and thousands of unborn that lost their lives..
not by nature
by choice.

I morn for them, since their own mothers may have not..
for I know that I will not see my own child on earth but that I love him..
and I await to see him in the arms of My Lord at the end of times..

Prayer for the Unborn

Heavenly Father, in Your love for us, protect against the wickedness of the devil, those helpless little ones to whom You have given the gift of life.

Touch with pity the hearts of those women pregnant in our world today who are not thinking of motherhood.

Help them to see that the child they carry is made in Your image - as well as theirs - made for eternal life.

Dispel their fear and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their babies and give them birth and all the needed care that a mother can give.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.

What to do with your Christmas Cards??

Ever wonder what you can with all those beauty Christmas Cards you get ? I use to keep them and have the kids cut them up and do art with them... until... A friend told me that they keep their cards in a basket and either each night or every other day or once a week.. they pick one up and they pray for that family... They let that family know that on that day they pray for them..

What a great idea is that !
What do you do with your Christmas Cards?

Are you a Rambo Catholic?

"Citing [Robert P.] George’s comparison of Catholic scholars who support abortion rights to defenders of chattel slavery, Cathleen Kaveny of the Notre Dame Law School, another scholar of law and theology in the Thomistic tradition, has called George and his allies “Rambo Catholics” and “ecclesiastical bullies.”

If saving unborn babies and defending marriage makes me a "Rambo Catholic" well then, baby, SIGN ME UP!!!
