Your duty is to sanctify yourself. Yes, even you. Who thinks that this task is only for priests and religious? To everyone, without exception, our Lord said: Be ye perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect. St. Josemaria

Mourning the Lost of Benedictio Again.

Today we as a church will see our gentle and sweet Holy Father, step down as Pope for the greater good of the Church, for God's greater Glory.

Almost a year ago, Pope Benedictio went to Mexico Leon, where the Cristeros took place in the 1920's

and than off to Santiago, Cuba for the 400 year anniversary  of Our Lady of Charity

This trip was very meaningful for our family since my husband is from Mexico and my family is from Cuba.

The week that Pope went to Mexico and than to Cuba was the hardest week of my life. I had to give birth to a beautiful baby boy who I never got a chance to see his color of his eyes or hear his cry but that I know that  He got to see more beauty than I will ever see on earth in Heaven.

So we called Him: Benedicto , which this year will be the one year anniversary of his death on Easter Sunday. The most Glories day of the Church and he will be celebrating with Christ himself. I ask him to pray for myself and his family and Our Church.

So once again, I am mourning the Lost of Benedicto, our Holy Father.

We pray and offer up all of our sufferings for the Greater Glory of God and His Beautiful Church!

Viva Cristo Rey!

Keep Love in Lent

"I’m participating in the Keeping LOVE in LENT Blog Link-Up 2013, hosted by
Raising (& Teaching) Little SaintsTruly Rich Mom and Arma Dei: Equipping Catholic Families. We'll be sharing different ways, tips, stories and real-life experiences that will help us focus on Lenten sacrifices, prayer and good deeds, and how to carry them out with LOVE instead of a GRUMBLE. Please scroll down to the end of the post to see the list of link-up entries.”

Making it personal to Love Him.

I feel the call this lent to make it as personal and real to live out Christ's love for us. It is also the first time in my whole life that I have done a fast and I have finally learn to  offer it together with love for others, love for Holy Father and Priest and Love for the Church. (pray&fast)

We are going to try to put together a Live Station of the Cross for the kids with the homeschooling group.

We started to meet on Fridays, to do a Holy Hour for Repartion for Boys and Girls . I was just taken by how profound  this is for the kids and myself. I felt such love for Him at church when we were doing this for watching the children love Him and listening to their voices asking for reparation for our sins and the whole world.

Love is so real , Love is Christ!

After searching for the right script for a Live Stations of the Cross, I found this great book:
A Children's Play of the Station of the Cross (here are some sample pages) . I like how it is simple and she also gives you ideas how to stage it, easy costumes, and how you can adapt it to your group's needs.

How do we really make it real for them, personal for them, so that They can truly feel and know His Love?

Check out the Lent reflections participating in the Keep LOVE in LENT Blog Link-Up 2013! We'll be sharing different ways, tips, stories and real-life experiences that will help us focus on Lenten sacrifices, prayer and good deeds, and how to carry them out with LOVE instead of a GRUMBLE.

The Poisonous Christ

The Poisonous Christ

This Christ figure is located at the Cathedral  of Mexico City.  The Legend is that in the 1500s a very pious gentlemen would  attend mass daily and than he would kiss the feet of Christ on this cross. Another man who was very jealous of this man, decided to kill the pious gentlemen. He notice that this pious gentlemen would kiss the feet of Christ and one day decided to place poison on Christ's feet so that the pious gentlemen would kiss as always and than died of that poison.
However, he underestimated  the power of Christ, for the Christ on this cross absorbed the poison and turn black as you see it now.

You see, that is what Christ does with our sweet Mother Church. He absorbs the poison, especially inside the church so that He can save His pious faithful servants.

We are sadden with the news of our Sweet Pope leaving us but we should have only hope that Christ is with us now and will absorb it all for His faithful servants until the end of times.

"And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it"
Matthew 16:18

Please  comment to pray and fast for Our Sweet Church, Her faithful servant Pope Benedict and Our Future Pope.

A Lenten Plan as easy as 1,2,3

We are one week away from the start of Lent. It is time to take this challenge to the next level. It is time to transform yourself  for Christ. It is time to transform your family so that we can transform this society of ours to HIS Glory.

A Lenten Plan is  as easy as 1, 2, 3.
(well, I wouldn't say really easy)

1.  PRAY

Set a daily time for HIM. Offer that time to Christ. I have been getting up at 5am so that I do have that time for HIM. Your time might be different or not. But set it and give it to HIM.
Have your books to read for lent ready to go and place where you will do your reading and prayer.
Here is my list:
(For the month of Feb. and March and the Lent one)

What are some of your books for this Lenten season?

2. FAST

Pick one, two or every other day to fast , a day with no more than 500 calories for women and 600 for men. (Please make sure its ok with your doctor, especially if your are nursing or pregnant all that good stuff!)

I find that it is easier to have set days. I have been for the last few weeks, 3 days a week (Tue/Thur/Sat.) however, for Lent I will fast on Wednesday and Fridays.

Remember that Christ wants and needs us to be cheerful. I know that is very hard to do. But when you think of those who are so cheerful with so much less than we have, you can't help but to smile.
Take your vitamins. It is a great help. Drink plenty of water.

54: " be cheerful, always cheerful. - Sadness is for those who do not consider themselves to be children of God." St. Josemaria Furrow

Most important, if you want choose everyday someone or something to offer up for your fast day. It makes it easier to know that somehow  your fasting is going to help someone in Our Beautiful Church to grow closer to God. We are partners with HIM. We are HIS instruments.

Go back to my post on Pray and Fast to see the medical benefits of fasting.

You have to do something physically: for your body is the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT.  Have the whole family move with you if that is easier. I usually get it done before the kids are up.
2 things that I found to be very helpful and very easy since I can do it anywhere is:

Bodyweight Exercise : meaning using your own body to exercise without using machines or going to the gym (maybe some dumbbells you can pick up at Walmart)
I found these site the most useful.
Nerd Fitness
He does a great job of showing via short clips and explaining it to you. You don't have to buy any of his books to get a set of workouts. He has many for free on his site.

If you have a kindle there are lots of free kindle books, just search: bodyweight exercise.

Cardio: My cardio workout are about no more than 20mins and some days it is only 4 mins. How you ask?Two things : Intervals Workouts

Have a notebook, write what body movement you do during lent. Commit to 40 days of moving for HIS Greater GLORY.

So there you have  it: A Lenten Plan as easy as 1, 2, 3  for this lent season.  Let us know  your plans. Share this with others if it will help one person, wonderful, as we are all HIS instruments in this world.

Need moral support, ideas, etc... : Check us out on facebook.

" 988: A day without mortification is a day lost, because if we have not denied ourselves, we have not lived the holocaust."  St. Josemaria in Furrow
