Your duty is to sanctify yourself. Yes, even you. Who thinks that this task is only for priests and religious? To everyone, without exception, our Lord said: Be ye perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect. St. Josemaria

A Little Flower Tea Party! (Finally)

We were able to finally have our annual Little Flower Love Tea party this past Friday.

We had some nice treats and a pink punch.

We read this great book, The Princess and the Kiss...

12 Ladies in Red.. with their beautiful smiles...

Playing a "Love" Bingo game with words of virtues and our Saints for this year.

Being that it was after St.Valentines, I found some great deals for their little Red buckets filled with nice goodies, even some great Catholic Religious stickers found at... The Dollar Tree (if you have one in your area, I highly recommend checking it out, you might find these great beautiful stickers)

Love comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

A Beautiful Blog Award..

Thanks to Garderia.. who so lovely has honor me with this Award. Check her out.. Her Jewel is a beauty!

As a recipient of the Beautiful Blogger Award, I must now:

1) Add a link and note of thanks to the person giving the award;

2) Pass the award on to 15 bloggers whose blogs I have recently discovered and love to read;

3) Share 7 things about myself.

Aww.. 7 things.. huh?

1.) I use to hate.. I mean hate the alarm clock in the morning.. but you know .. I really look forward to that moment that I have a choice 1st thing in the morning to offer up.. which is get up out of bed!

2.) I thought I could live without my 1 cup only Cuban "Cafe con lecha" but no since I am actually getting out of bed on time.. I need it but I found out that I do better when I have it at noon or 1pm instead 1st thing..

3.) I love to be around my friends, I never had close friends in Highschool or College..but I have some great friends now that I can't even think of not having them. (it will bring me to tears)

4.) I knew the day before my grandmother pass away that she was going to die the next day. Strange, I just had a dream the Tuesday before Thanksgiving 01, and that Wednesday I was talking to my sister about how sad that Nina had pass away.. my sister says what? She didn't. On Thanksgiving Day my dad calls to let me know that his beloved mother had pass away.

5.) I can't picture my life without being home. I love being home with my kids, trust me I like a vacation here or there but the thought that I will with the Grace of God truly be a Saint is from being at home with these beauties, with the everyday life (dishes, sweep, laundry, etc.. ) what an honor!

6.) In the winter I just can't go to bed without socks but I never seem to wake up with them!

7.) What I want more than a pool in my backyard is a well built soccer goal!

So you "have to" pick 15 recently discover blogs.. but I fell short just have 7..oops!

Those bitter hours..

"My Lord and my God, under the loving eyes of our Mother, we are making ready to accompany you along this path of sorrow, which was the price for our redemption. We wish to suffer all that you suffered, to offer you our poor, contrite hearts, because you are innocent, and yet you are going to die for us, who are the only really guilty ones.
My Mother, Virgin of sorrows, help me to relive those bitter hours which your Son wished to spend on earth, so that we, who were made from a handful of clay, may finally live in libertatem gloriae filiorum Dei, in the freedom and glory of the children of God.”
St. Josemaria

It will give you the strength for the rest of the week..

Children are really taken by it..

It makes them think and see

What Christ did for them.. for us..

My Lent...

"We are at the beginning of Lent: a time of penance, purification and conversion. It is not an easy program, but then Christianity is not an easy way of life. It is not enough just to be in the Church, letting the years roll by. In our life, in the life of Christians, our first conversion — that unique moment which each of us remembers, when we clearly understood everything the Lord was asking of us — is certainly very significant. But the later conversions are even more important, and they are increasingly demanding. To facilitate the work of grace in these conversions, we need to keep our soul young; we have to call upon our Lord, know how to listen to him and, having found out what has gone wrong, know how to ask his pardon…"
St. Josemaria; Christ is Passing By, 57

I always look forward to Lent...

What will I give up? What extra things will I do? How will I grow in my relationship with Christ?

There are some thoughts in my head with these questions..

(I write them out for it actually helps me be more accounted for since its out in the open but for nothing more than that.)

I will be less on the computer

(email check morning & afternoon, 10mins top, even have my own timer)

Have that heroic moment as St. Josemaria says.. getting up at the 1st sound of the alarm..

(that's a tough one for me)

Skipping those extras in meals, drinks, time wasted on those little things...

Spend more time in front of Christ, one on one...

I have to show Him my love for Him..

I have to be a witness to my children how much I love Him..

Confess my sins more often... Just have to make that time..

Doing work of Mercy...

I am really thinking about this one that I can bring the kids..

There is a poor nursing home near us that just doesn't get any attention at all..

What better than getting the Divine Mercy pray than during Lent..

we need all the Mercy God can give us...

Station of the Cross..

(one my favorite..)

A few years ago we made our own little stations of the cross.. I couldn't really find the best

place to put them until I thought about our stairs.. They have give or take 14 steps..

so we place them on there and up we go doing the Stations of the Cross..

Just as Christ went up to Calvary.. we are so heading up on our knees..

What little love for God you have when you give in without a fight because it's not a grave sin!

-- St. Josemaria Escriva

Playing Church...

Trainboy says to Blondie:
"Hey..Want to play Church?"
Blondie says: "Sure!"
Trainboy answers:
"Great..I am the priest and you get the books."
They go downstairs.. I think how cute.. I love to see how they play but someone else gets my attention and go on with life..
This morning.. I head downstairs and this is what I found :
They were playing Church..
What I love that trainboy says.. I will be the priest.
(thank goodness he didn't say for Blondie to be the priest)
Its so worth all the trouble we go through every Sunday to take them to Mass. I don't know how many times I am thinking oh.. its just so hard with these little ones..
but the graces are there
and we need them!

The Super AD

We went to a SuperBowl party.. (after this snowstorm we had..) and we actually miss the AD due to I know.. eating.. drinking,,, running behind those kids of mine.. talking.. so I am glad I found it.. Its actually funny and nice.. I just don't understand what was the whole big deal from the other side ..

Its because I feel they just know that people understand the real truth and it scares them to death....

May God have Mercy on us! May God save us and protect the unborn!!

They have a Winner!

They have a winner over at
for the St. Valentine's Give-away..

Congratulations to Gardenia for being the winner...
Here is her favorite love quote...

1 Corinthians 13:

1 If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
3 Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,
it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
4 Love never fails.

Food for Thought Friday!

I have been reading this great book by James B. Stenson (a wonderful author/speaker)..

(He has many books out that are all good)

Its a book as they put help to maintain your confidence and peace of mind even during your toughest times as a parent...

He writes an understanding of the trials of parenthood and emphasizes your sacred mission as a parent and your primary responsibility:

to bring YOUR Children face to face

Jesus Christ.

That's alot in one sentence don't you think...again:

Its your primary responsibility to bring Your Children face to face with Jesus Christ!!

He starts chapter 2...

"Your sacred mission, the vital core of your vocation, is to light

a FIRE of love for God in heart of each of your children!

A Love of Jesus and his Church, formed from INFANCY (folks not when they are teenagers.. no..)will direct the whole course of your children's lives

I can almost quote the whole book because its just so good...

Read this..

To succeed at this mission, with GOD's never-failing help is to succeed in everything!

Going back a chapter, He asks
(take a moment think about it)

What is the motivation ideal of your vocation as parent?

What sort of men and women should your children, with God's help grow to be?

What should their lives look like by the time they reach the full flower of adulthood, before they're even out of their teens?

He goes on to explain..

If you try only to CONTROL your children, you will meet with endless hassles and frustration.

If you try to FORM your children to empower their consciences, minds and will for life-- you will have with God's help not merely a fighting chance to succeed but a fighting certainty!!

There is a great wealth of thought in this great book... I will share once again next week if you haven't gone out to buy that book now!

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you says the Lord and I will restore your fortunes"..(Jer 29:11-14)

Now.. How about that for some thought?
