My Shower of Roses!

Today is the Feast of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus.. Many know that her novena is a powerful and one full with Roses.. I remember about 9 years ago my oldest sister told me about her novena and it was a time in my life that I need! I was at the moment in my life that I wanted to start my vocation to marriage yet I hadn't found my soul mate! I decided to venture out into the wide world of the web and I join Ave Maria Single Catholic in hopes to find my soul mate or for him to find me!

God always know what he is doing.. so it be... I found him! We spoke on the phone and wrote emails (long ones, short ones.. all the time) for about 3 months before we finally met at St.Patrick in NYC.. It sure was love at first time and I recalled to this day, the moments leading up to it. So without the knowledge of my leading man in this play of life, I decided to take my sisters advise and give St. Theresa a try! I did the 24 days novena, since I wanted to be so sure ! I was so sure not to miss a day and I did the novena prayer always in front of the Christ (I lived so close to a Church that was always open!!) I actually remember coming back from a soccer tournament at the beach and just so tired for it was a long day but I made sure I went and did my novena...

Than the day came.. actually almost not really putting much thought into it.. a busy day, teaching, studying, and working my second job and I come home, Nov. 22 2000, and I found at my doorsteps...

ROSES!!

But you know.. not just 12 Roses... 24 ROSES sent from my one and only true love!! He was just sending them for my saint Day but had no clue of my novena..

To this day, I have a special place in my heart for St. Theresa...

Govern by all Thy Wisdom, O Lord,
so that my soul may always be serving Thee as Thou dost
Will,
and not as I may choose.
Do not punish me, I beseech Thee,
by granting that which I wish
or ask if it offended Thy Love,
which would always live in me.
Let me die to myself,
so that I may love Thee.
Let me live to Thee,
Who art in Thyself,
the True Life.

Dear St. Therese,
guide me in your Little Way,
so that I may ascend to the heights and happiness of
Heaven.

Ooooo...

I am crying! How beautiful, she IS such a lovable saint and when she arranges the roses it is like having the carpet pulled from under you. Such awe...

God bless you AND the love of your life!

How special!!! Thanks for sharing this story!! God bless you both!

You know, I had something similar happen... I prayed a novena to St. Therese asking for a sign if my husband was the person I was meant to marry, and on the last day of my novena I opened my apartment door to find a single red rose on my doorstep -- the first flower he had ever given me and he too had no idea of my novena! =)
