Healing and Hope

My soul is deprived of peace,
I have forgotten what happiness is;
I tell myself my future is lost,
all that I hope for from the Lord.
But I will call this to mind,
as my reason to have hope:
The favors of the Lord are not exhausted,
his mercies are not spent;
They are renewed each morning,
so great is his faithfulness.
My portion is the Lord, says my soul;
therefore I will hope in him.
Lamentations 3:17-18, 21-24

This was the pray that we used for Benedicto's card that we gave out at the burial services.
It is so fitting to how we feel.

I bought this wonderful book by a wonderful women;
"after miscarriage" A Catholic Woman's Companion to Healing and Hope by Karen Edmisten

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has experience a lost or who knows of someone who has experience a lost. What Karen has put together is a God send. She writes her own journey of losing children and others experience. She writes ways and things one can do to help with the healing and have that hope once again. Another great part of the book is she found perfect quotations from saints and scriptures that nails your feelings right to the wall such as;

" Let nothing trouble you, let nothing frighten you. All tings are passing; God never changes. Patience obtains all things. He who possesses God lacks nothing; God alone Suffices."
St. Teresa of Avila, "Bookmark"

I'm keeping you in my prayers, Cecilia. That is a beautiful prayer chosen for your son's holy card. God bless you.
