A view in our "School Year"

Our new school year will start on August 20th, on feast day of St. Bernard of Clairvaux.
“In dangers, in doubts, in difficulties, think of Mary, call upon Mary. Let not her name depart from your lips, never suffer it to leave your heart. And that you may more surely obtain the assistance of her prayer, neglect not to walk in her footsteps. With her for guide, you shall never go astray; while invoking her, you shall never lose heart; so long as she is in your mind, you are safe from deception; while she holds your hand, you cannot fall; under her protection you have nothing to fear; if she walks before you, you shall not grow weary; if she shows you favor, you shall reach the goal”
  St.Bernard of Clairvaux.

This year I have a 5th grader, 1st grader , Kindergarten and a very very busy pre-schooler.

The last two years we attained a wonderful Mother of Divine Grace Co-op in PA but sadly we moved to Mississippi this summer. So we register with Mother of Divine Grace using the Grade Overview program and Learning Support Latin class for my oldest.

We are also going to join a local co-op using Classical Catholic Memory   on Mondays which is:
A Catholic homeschool memory work program, classical in nature, that guides parents and children in mastering challenging and inspiring material in eight subjects: Religion, Latin, History, Science, Math, Timeline, Geography, and Great Words.

We are doing the Alpha year. The kit comes with these wonderful made maps and timelines. We will also being doing art and dissections. So it seems to fit perfect in our schedule .

Prayer To Our Lady for Homeschooling Parents

Blessed Mother, as you so humbly and graciously accepted God's will to bear and raise His only son, and to guide him in wisdom and virtue, help me in the instruction and education of my children. Pray to your Heavenly Son to grant me the grace and strength to assist in their learning, overcoming tiredness and discouragement. Assist me in the management of my home, so that I may be able to keep order and peace, despite the challenges of schooling within it. Intercede for me, imploring Our Heavenly Father to bestow upon me wisdom, not for my own sake, but so that I may form my children's minds and hearts, so that they may grow into strong adults, helping to shape the world for His glory, and ultimately inheriting the kingdom of heaven. Call upon your heavenly angels to stand by my side, with their great intelligence, to help me understand that which I am instructing, and assist my children in learning of same. We humbly ask this through you beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Cecilia - you won my give-away! Come over and see!

Love your blog and this post - we mostly use MODG too and are in Suzuki lessons. I will be posting our curriculum choices soon.

I would love to learn more about CCM. There is a very successful and very Protestant Classical Conversations group nearby that piques my interest, but so far I have resisted. I would love to know more about CCM!
