The Connecticut legislature introduced Raised Bill 1098 which takes aim directly at the Catholic Church -and no other church. The bill would remove the authority of the bishop and pastor over individual parishes and put a board of laymen in their place.

"If this bill were to be enacted,” warned Bishop Lori, “your bishop, would have virtually, virtually no real relationship with the 87 parishes…they could go off independently, some of them could break off from the Church if they wished, and go their own way as has happened, for example, with the Episcopal Church. And the pastors would be figureheads, simply working for a board of trustees," he said last Friday.

If this pass, it will be a big hit against the Church! For my parents, they will be reliving Cuba again! What does 50 years exile of their beloved Country done for them?
