Your duty is to sanctify yourself. Yes, even you. Who thinks that this task is only for priests and religious? To everyone, without exception, our Lord said: Be ye perfect, as my heavenly Father is perfect. St. Josemaria

Words on a Wednesday...

Usually we have wordless Wednesday but today.. I am fill with these words.. During my morning prayers, I read In Conversations with God, its a wonderful series of books, I that I grew up with thanks to my parents.. It goes through the church calender and today is the 26 week of ordinary time... I go to the book and open up .. BAMM! I'm hit!

The title is Following Christ..

"Jesus ask of disciples, of all of us, a radical and habitual detachment: The firm resolve to be the master of the things we use. We can never become attached to possessions. Those who have been called to live their vocations in the world need to give this struggle serious attention and keep it up! This struggle is all the more important nowadays when the desire for having, for owning and enjoying things has become the ultimate aim of many lives"

Now if that isn't speaking to me!!!

"If we can live without superfluous goods we will be to that extent closer to Christ's own life of detachment...."

The author ask these questions : " Do I really need this? Do I have many things I don't really need? Do I truly live out the consequences of Christina detachment?

"Do not fix your heart on anything that passes away. Imitate Christ, who become poor for us, and had nowhere to lay his head. Ask him to give you, in the midst of thew world, a real detachment, a detachment that has nothing to soften it."
St. Josemaria, The Forge, 523

America Needs Adoration

"Having spoken of the holiness of God, and the participation of creatures in that holiness, we now come to the consideration of man’s proper response to God’s holiness: adoration. Just as the concept of holiness is many-faceted, so also the concept of adoration. Adoration, in the first place, is creation’s highest act of worship. It is giving to God what belongs to him alone, he who alone is holy. It is the supreme form of reverence, glory and honor. But adoration is also creation’s attempt to reach out, with the help of God’s invitation and grace, to become holy in the presence of God. So we must now consider these two aspects of adoration: as an act of reverencing God, and as a means of sanctification for creatures."
(Opus Sanctorum Angelorum)

Now more than ever we need more Eucharistic Adoration, were our country needs it, the whole world needs it.. We have a Professor of Theology of a Catholic University, Notre Dame.. saying:

"Eucharistic adoration, perpetual or not, is a doctrinal, theological, and spiritual step backward, not forward"
(Fr. McBrien, Professor of Theology, University of Notre Dame).

St. Peter Julian Eymard wrote:
"The solemn cult of exposition [adoration] is necessary in order to awaken the dormant faith of so many good people who no longer know Jesus Christ, because they no longer know that he is their Neighbor, their Friend, their God.

"Society is dying because it no longer has a center of truth and love, and no family life; individuals isolate themselves, turn in on themselves, want to be self-sufficient; the breakup of society is imminent.
"But society will be reborn, full of vigor when we all join and unite around our Emmanuel. Communication among thinkers naturally will take place, guided by the truth. The bonds of true and strong friendship will be renewed under the influence of one love; the beautiful days of the cenacle will return; the feast of the great King, God's family feast."
Please sign the petition so that Father McBrien will see his error, will ask for forgivness and will be enlighten by the Holy Spirit.

Padre Pio-- Pray for Us and Our Most Beautiful Church

"Pray and hope; do not get upset. Anxiety serves no purpose. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”

“Be calm in regards to your spirit, and always confide completely in Jesus. Make an effort to always conform to the Divine will in everything, in pleasure, and in adversity. Don’t worry about tomorrow!”

"Bear in mind that the more pleasing a soul is to God, the more it must be tried. Therefore, courage, and go forward, always.”

A bit of Change for the Better!

We had started school about two weeks ago.. My dearest friend..had mention to me the Workboxes system by Sue for some time and she started this year with her 5 homeschooled children... and is having a great success so I thought.. humm.. what is it all about it? I read it and I thought sounds good.. Lets do it!

So I went to Dollar Store (great shoe boxes, I was able to get purple tops for PrincessGirl, blue top for Trainboy and white for Blondie..) and few other things at Walmart.. (like the Velcros dots)

So Here is the first day that we used them and it work great... For Princessgirl I used 12 as its in the system...having in there from all her work load of Mother Divine Grace program, to some extra hands on activities, and a Cross craft project...She loves it... She has always been the order, lets get going type of student.. Its so true what Sue says.. they love to see how much work they have to do and when they are working.. they love to see how much they have do and what is left... We were done with school by 2pm which always was later because since I had to stop and take care of the other children, Princessgirl didn't really know what else to do until I came back..
(don't you love those desk? It was given to me by an angel!)
For Trainboy and Blondie.. I did 5 boxes to start.. they are good about playing nice without interrupting us with school work so after they finished with their boxes, they went off to play..
Trainboy really likes it... Again.. children love order and they do need to see what they have to do and whats next...

(We found these color tables at Walmart, I got green for trainboy favorite color, orange for Blondie and purple for princessgirl but that was before I got those great desk tables!!)
(Once they finish, they stack the boxes and still you can see what needs to be done next)
Blondie working hard.. Its so funny but.. Blondie works and talks and talks..and is always turning around to see what others are doing.. its a girl for you..
She loves her boxes!!
I have to say.. our days run smooth..
God bless!

Making it A Home

Well.. Its been a year since we moved to our new house... yet, there is still so much to do... But I am very proud of this some thing that I was able to do in the kitchen.. I can't sew...(not yet, one day I will teach myself..) so I needed curtains for the kitchen window... finally one day at Walmart, I found these rods where you don't have to screw or make holes (which my husband is so happy about!) for $10.. so now I needed curtains..
For the price of these nice curtains.. its great.... However, the kitchen window is small and this package came with valance and two curtains for I believe a larger window.. So what did I do with the other pieces?

I decide to use one to dress up the stove... it needed something..

the other pieced I use to refinish my bulletin boarded that I have on my frig!.. My sister -in-law who is an designer would be proud!
What surprise me the most.(not really) was how much the children, especially my boy really love the new touch to our kitchen.. he would say over and over throughout the day.. wow..thats pretty ..
It makes you think how children really like a nice home..maybe not with the biggest TV or Top of the line sofa, but just pretty touch here and there.. and for sure they like order in their home.. makes them feel safe and loved...
It makes me think back to the Domestic Church...
and
Our Beautiful Churches..
It makes you feel loved, it makes you love .. and who else but
Christ is that love..
Don't you wish more Churches just show that love for Christ..

Two Days too soon!

After you read this very sad story.. think to yourself... can this happen here?
Many will say no.. not in USA.. but I say why not? If the Health Care Reform goes through and becomes a bill.. things of this nature will happen. And many may find this story.. nothing wrong with it since if you find nothing wrong with killing a baby at 19 weeks or 8 weeks.. But for a doctor to do NOTHING.. to save a baby that is already BORN.. because he was born two days too soon...
All I can say is..
MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON US!
Mother says doctors refused to treat infant because of U.K. health rules
London, England, September 10 (CNA) .-

Doctors in England ignored a mother's pleas for help and left her extremely premature baby to die because he was born two days before a hospital guidelines' recommended cutoff age for providing medical treatment.

In October 2008 Sarah Capewell, 23, gave birth to her son just 21 weeks and five days into her pregnancy, almost four months early.
She told the Daily Mail that doctors ignored her pleas to save Jayden, her newborn son. They said they were following national guidelines which say babies born before 22 weeks should not be given medical treatment.
Capewell said doctors refused even to see her son, who lived for almost two hours without any medical support. She reported that he was breathing unaided, had a strong heartbeat and was moving his arms and legs. However, medics refused to admit him to a special care unit.

They said they would have tried to save Jayden if he had been born two days later, at 22 weeks into pregnancy.
"When he was born, he put out his arms and legs and pushed himself over," Capewell reported. A midwife said he was breathing and had a strong heartbeat and described him as a "little fighter."
"I kept asking for the doctors but the midwife said, 'They won't come and help, sweetie. Make the best of the time you have with him'," Capewell told the Daily Mail.
She cuddled her son and took photos of him. He died in her arms less than two hours after his birth.
Capewell also reported that during her premature labor with Jayden she was told that she was not allowed injections to try to stop the labor or a steroid injection to help strengthen her baby's lungs because she had not reached 22 weeks into pregnancy.
Doctors told Capewell, who has had five miscarriages, to treat the labor as a miscarriage, not a birth. They advised that she expect her baby to be born with serious deformities or stillborn.
After Jayden's death she had to argue with hospital officials for her right to receive birth and death certificates to allow her son a proper funeral.
The medical guidelines for Health Service hospitals state that babies should not be given intensive care if they are born at less than 23 weeks.

The guidelines were drawn up by the Nuffield Council on Bioethics and are not compulsory. They advise doctors that medical intervention for very premature children is not in the best interests of the baby and is not "standard practice."
A trust spokesman from James Paget Hospital in Norfolk said the hospital follows national guidance from the British Association of Perinatal Medicine regarding premature births.

Capewell has since discovered that a prematurely born child has survived after being born 21 weeks and six days into her mother's pregnancy. Amillia Taylor was born in Florida in 2006 and was treated because doctors mistakenly believed she was a week older.
Amillia celebrated her second birthday last October. She is the youngest premature baby to survive.
"Thousands of women have experienced this," Capewell said. "The doctors say the babies won't survive but how do they know if they are not giving them a chance?"

Canticle of Mary
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.

One thing for sure this summer that has been great is to finally be at a parish that you felt welcome, that you knew the Mass was going to be said beautiful and Homily that really got you thinking and beautiful families waiting outside to just say hello , how was your weekend, who don't mind that your children are just too much of the talkative side or hot temper side and really help make your Sunday, what it is meant to be....
